The Team
The successful candidate will assist financial services, corporate, and private equity clients across various sectors and coverage areas to achieve their strategic objectives, from initial review to successful completion. You will work on origination and execution of lead advisory mandates in the mid-market, specializing within a sector. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates to join a growing and ambitious team as sector specialists.

- Develop and maintain senior, trusted client relationships across mid-market and global companies, new strategic entrants, financial investors, and entrepreneurs.
- Build a strong market reputation across KPMG’s major service lines.
- Possess a diverse skill set and deep sector expertise across all sectors.
- Lead projects (with support from Directors/Partners), including being a primary client contact on M&A projects.
- Manage client interfaces, oversee day-to-day project management and delivery of M&A transactions, including all transaction phases and deal execution.
- Lead the creation of transaction documentation, pitch materials, and client proposals.
- Manage and supervise colleagues, support staff, and external advisers.
- Review financial analyses and complex modelling conducted by team members.
- Build and develop strong market relationships.
- Take responsibility for origination and business development initiatives.
- Monitor and control project budgets, billing, and reporting requirements.
Attributes, Qualifications & Skills
- Strong academic background (ACA, CFA, MBA, or equivalent).
- Significant M&A advisory experience.
- Proven execution skills and developing origination capabilities.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Personal drive, ambition, and results-oriented mindset.
- Experience in financial modelling, including LBO & DCF analysis.
- High attention to detail, quality standards, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Personable approach, capable of building confidence and trust with colleagues and clients.
- Sector-specific M&A experience and comprehensive transactional experience across all transaction phases.
Experience & Background
- Relevant corporate finance experience in investment banks, Big 4, private equity, M&A boutiques, or corporate development roles.
- Knowledge of financing structures, including debt, project finance, and high-leverage infrastructure finance.
- Experience advising and executing projects to financial close for private sector clients, including M&A and refinancing.
- Experience advising public sector clients, with skills in option appraisals, value-for-money analysis, and business case development.
- Proficiency in business case writing, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Skilled in financial modelling, analysis, and understanding financial accounting.
- Ability to interpret and present financial model outputs effectively.
- Enjoy engaging with companies, investors, regulators, and stakeholders across functions.
- Independent thinker with problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.
- Experience managing teams and working on multiple projects under tight deadlines.
