The Team
The Global Communications function plays a critical role in shaping and delivering Fidelity's reputation and strategy. We provide communications leadership across internal and external audiences, ensuring alignment, engagement and impact.
This role sits within the Investment Solutions & Services (ISS) Communications team, a globally integrated function responsible for delivering high-impact communications for Fidelity's investment management and client proposition businesses. The Associate Director will report to the Head of ISS Communications and work closely with colleagues across geographies and business units.
The Role
This Associate Director role is a senior strategic leadership position, accountable for the design, delivery and governance of all employee communications related to:
- Investment Management (IM) strategy, priorities and organisational transformation
- Investment Solutions & Services (ISS) proposition development, strategy and engagement
- Enterprise-wide change initiatives with material impact across the asset management business
You will act as a senior advisor and employee communications partner to the firm's most senior leaders. You will lead complex, cross-functional communication programmes that connect business strategy to employee engagement, ensuring clarity, alignment and momentum across Fidelity's global network.
This is a role for an employee communications leader with strong business acumen, deep knowledge of the asset management industry and a proven ability to drive change through influence and execution.
Key Responsibilities- Lead strategic internal communications for Investment Management and ISS, ensuring alignment to business priorities and engagement with employees across all regions.
- Partner with the business on enterprise-level change initiatives, creating and executing communications plans that support successful transformation across investment, distribution, operations, and technology.
- Provide senior-level advisory to Investment Management leadership and cross-functional programme owners on narrative, messaging, stakeholder engagement and delivery strategy.
- Drive change communications that are timely, creative, measurable, and impact-led, designed to shift mindsets and behaviour across diverse audiences.
- Ensure end-to-end delivery across multiple workstreams by managing message cadence, stakeholder alignment, delivery channels and feedback loops.
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across asset management, global communications, change, HR, and operations functions.
- Use insight and feedback to inform and improve communications activity; establish governance routines, KPIs and engagement metrics where appropriate.
- Act as a leader within the ISS Communications team - supporting collaboration, developing best practices and mentoring junior colleagues.
Experience & QualificationsWe're looking for an ambitious and seasoned communications leader with:
- Strong knowledge of the asset management industry, including the client landscape and investment process.
- Extensive experience developing and delivering strategic internal communications, ideally within global financial services or complex matrix organisations.
- Strong track record in enterprise change communications, including transformation programmes, operating model changes and leadership engagement.
- Proven ability to influence at senior levels, form strong stakeholder relationships, and act as a trusted advisor to C-suite leaders.
- Excellent storytelling, writing, and editing skills, capable of creating clarity and engagement on complex and technical topics.
- A strategic mindset with an execution focus, comfortable balancing long-term planning with fast-paced delivery.
- Experience operating at scale across geographies and functions, with cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
