Associate Director – Interior Design (Technical Delivery – Commercial & Mixed-Use Interiors)
Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days studio / 2 days WFH)
Salary: Up to £60,000 (dependent on experience)
Software: Revit essential | Rhino beneficial
We’re looking for a seasoned, delivery-focused Associate Director to lead the technical execution of large-scale commercial and mixed-use interior fit-outs. This isn’t a conceptual role—this is about taking high-spec interiors through complex programmes and delivering them with precision, polish, and grit.
You’ll be stepping into a leadership position within a highly respected studio known for its quality execution across interior architecture, workspace strategy, and retail environments.
Who This Role Is For:
- A technically strong interior designer or architect with a background in large commercial interior and mixed-use developments
- Someone who’s just as comfortable on-site as they are in a client meeting
- A project leader who’s overseen interiors from concept through to handover—especially across corporate, retail, or developer-led schemes
Who It’s Not For:
- Pure concept designers with limited experience delivering large-scale builds
- Residential-only portfolios
- Architects looking to pivot into interiors without hands-on commercial interior project experience
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and delivery of complex interiors projects, managing teams and timelines from RIBA Stage 3 onward
- Act as a client-facing lead across multiple workstreams, ensuring coordination across disciplines
- Review and develop technical packages in Revit
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and site teams to ensure smooth project execution
- Mentor and support junior team members
- Contribute to resourcing, budget management, and strategic input on project pipeline
Requirements
- Degree-qualified in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture
- Extensive experience delivering commercial interiors or mixed-use interior environments (workspace, retail, leisure, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of building regs, fit-out processes, and technical detailing
- Software: Revit (must-have); Rhino/SketchUp/AutoCAD a bonus
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills
What’s On Offer
- £55,000–£60,000 base salary
- Hybrid working (3 days studio / 2 days WFH)
- Career progression toward Director level
- Supportive, energetic team culture with a serious focus on quality
