In 2019, the successful merger of our M&A and Real Estate indirect tax teams led to the formation of the Financial Investors team, which has experienced consistent growth in revenue and team size. The team has ambitious plans for further expansion in areas considered a strategic priority.

The team operates within the Indirect Tax group and collaborates closely with Deloitte's Financial Investors Tax team, one of the most dynamic and rapidly expanding sectors of the business. We advise on all aspects of VAT for our financial investor clients, handling high-value private equity and real estate transactions across the UK and Europe, supporting investment businesses on VAT matters, and advising private equity-backed companies across various sectors.

• Leading VAT input on Deloitte’s largest transaction support engagements, including buy-side, sell-side, carve-outs, and restructuring
• Providing comprehensive VAT advice for transactions and portfolios of investee companies
• Advising private capital firms on VAT recovery, fund structuring, and compliance
• Supporting recovery of VAT on deal costs within various holding structures
• Reviewing contracts and advising on UK VAT implications affecting business decisions
• Leading client engagement teams, balancing transaction support and advisory work
• Deepening client relationships and contributing to new business development
• Mentoring Analysts and Consultants with practical advice and support
• Contributing to market development initiatives locally, nationally, and internationally, with potential leadership roles
• Collaborating with colleagues across the firm
• Shaping team culture and goals to maintain a positive work environment
• Managing diverse teams effectively and promoting an inclusive culture
