We are looking for an Associate Director, Infrastructure & Development Finance Group, Africa to join our team at Standard Chartered Bank in London.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be a trusted advisor and partner for our clients’ strategic corporate actions.
  • Support Infrastructure & Development Finance Group (“IDFG”) colleagues and Regional Heads in formulating business strategy aligned with client objectives across the region.
  • Assist the Project Export Finance (PEF) Regional Heads in implementing the PEF business strategy.
  • Build trusted relationships with Sponsors, Promoters, and Banks/Financial Institutions.
  • Develop origination and execution capabilities, including local regulatory knowledge in major markets.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clients and markets to support strategic client dialogues.
  • Support deal execution for Project Finance transactions in Africa.
  • Participate in both origination and execution of transactions, from pitching to closing.
  • Engage in the structuring, arranging, negotiating, due diligence, and drafting of documents for debt & advisory transactions.
  • Perform financial and sensitivity analyses using relevant industry methodologies.
  • Understand and mitigate credit risks associated with financing to protect the Bank’s interests.
  • Stay informed about emerging sectors and regulatory developments in African project financing opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Relevant industry experience, degree, or postgraduate qualification from a top-tier institution.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in financial evaluation and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively in team and self-directed environments.
  • Strong work ethics, attention to detail, and a passion for excellence.
  • Ability to perform under time pressure.
  • Proven teamwork skills.
  • Business-level English language proficiency.
