Associate Director Geo-Environmental, Milton Keynes

Position Overview

The Associate Director Geo-Environmental will join a structural, civil, and building engineering company based in Milton Keynes. The role involves UK-wide travel and site presence. The company supports a wide range of sectors across all stages of the built environment and is experiencing continuous growth.

The successful candidate will create and drive the vision for the Geo-Environmental department, overseeing projects such as Phase I Desk Studies, Phase II Ground Investigations for residential and commercial developments, and landfill extension sites.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the Geo-Environmental team comprising a Principal, Senior, and Graduate Engineer.
2. Design in accordance with British Standards, Eurocodes, CIRIA, BRE, NHBC, etc.
3. Implement internal QMS procedures and ensure compliance with company protocols.
4. Coordinate and engage with clients.
5. Provide innovative designs and documentation.
6. Oversee tender processes and produce contract documentation.
7. Manage projects of all sizes, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
8. Assist in preparing fee proposals and scope of site investigations.
9. Lead site investigation processes from concept to completion.
10. Coordinate with professionals and contractors as needed.
11. Mentor less experienced team members.

Position Requirements

1. Degree in a relevant engineering subject.
2. Minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar consultancy.
3. Chartered geologist, engineer, or scientist.
4. Commercially aware with ability to attract and develop business opportunities.
5. Proficient in software such as SlopeW, Holebase, etc.
6. Experience in foundation design, earthworks, slope stability, and contaminated land risk assessments.
7. Ability to lead a team of engineers and technicians.
8. Full driving license and access to a car.
