We are seeking an entrepreneurial Façade Engineering Lead to develop and grow a new business line at Hydrock, now part of Stantec. You will leverage our multi-disciplinary offerings—including Civil & Structural, Mechanical & Electrical, and Fire Engineering—to attract clients and expand our façade engineering team. Collaborating closely with architects, project managers, and stakeholders, you will ensure the successful delivery of high-quality, sustainable, and aesthetically appealing building exteriors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Start and Grow Hydrock’s Façade Business: Lead all façade-related projects and be instrumental in winning bids across disciplines.
  • Facade Design and Engineering: Oversee design and engineering, focusing on structural integrity, energy efficiency, material selection, and aesthetics.
  • Client Engagement: Serve as the primary contact for clients on façade projects, addressing concerns and aligning with their vision.
  • Team Leadership: Build and manage a team of façade engineers, providing guidance and support for professional growth.
  • Project Management: Manage the entire façade engineering process from concept to construction documentation, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with architects and other engineering disciplines to integrate façade design seamlessly.
  • Material Selection: Research and recommend innovative materials and systems to enhance performance, sustainability, and aesthetics.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control processes to meet industry standards and client expectations.
  • Commercial Awareness: Advise on the commercial aspects of the façade team’s growth.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies for team expansion and project delivery.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven success in business development and work-winning.
  • Experience in delivering projects within a multi-disciplinary consultancy environment, working with challenging clients on high-profile projects.
  • Ability to build and lead a team of façade engineers.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations internationally and domestically.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Creative problem-solving and attention to detail.
