Position Overview

The Investment Engineering team is responsible for developing innovative solution and applications to enhance the investment process, improve operation efficiency, and support the overall business objective for Apollo's investment professionals.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Full Stack Engineer to join our dynamic team at a leading alternative asset manager in our expanding London office. This is a unique opportunity to establish a startup mindset within a world-class firm, fostering an engineering-first, hands-on culture. The role involves building strong relationships with business stakeholders, promoting cross-department collaboration with key members of Apollo's investment team, and working alongside other engineers in the global Engineering organization. As part of a forward-thinking organization, the individual will focus on designing sustainable financial platforms that drive innovation and enhance the capabilities of Apollo's global Engineering team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Member of the Investment Technology team, responsible for full lifecycle of development tasks - analyze, design and code business-related solutions, as well as core architectural changes, using an Agile programming approach resulting in software delivered to tight deadlines.
  • Participate and contribute to design discussions and code reviews.
  • Understand changing priorities and be forward-thinking in context switching.
  • Build positive relationships with other team members, collaborate, and communicate effectively to reach successful outcomes
  • Apply problem-solving skills to help your peers in the research and selection of tools, products, and frameworks (which is vital to support business initiatives)

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or another STEM field.
  • A minimum of 4+ years of hands-on development experience, proficient in both scripting languages (e.g., Python) and object-oriented programming (e.g., Java, C++).
  • Capital Markets/Investment Banking Technology expertise required, with experience supporting or developing solutions for origination, syndication, and trading workflows.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with experience building and deploying scalable solutions leveraging microservices architecture.
  • Strong proficiency in database technologies, including relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL/NewSQL) databases, with the ability to optimize queries, write stored procedures, and manage data warehousing solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, deploy, and maintain high-throughput systems, with experience in messaging technologies like Kafka.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and version control systems such as Git.
  • A passion for clean, maintainable code, and a track record of delivering robust full-stack cloud-based applications.
