KPMG’s Major Projects Advisory (MPA) team collaborates with industry-leading organizations, tackling significant infrastructure challenges. As a market leader, we serve an impressive client base across public and private sectors, delivering impactful projects and programs.

We provide clarity to Boards, Executives, and SROs regarding project delivery, working across sectors like transport, energy, utilities, oil & gas, defense, health, housing, and education.

Our team consists of industry specialists with extensive construction experience from various UK and international projects.

Due to growth, we are investing further in our team, making this a pivotal time to join one of our fastest-growing areas.

The role

This senior role is for an innovative professional at Associate Director level, leveraging construction and commercial expertise to solve complex problems.

You will help expand our MPA business, working with leadership, clients, and other KPMG teams to develop our cost intelligence offerings, based on your experience in capex efficiency, benchmarking, cost analytics, and policy advisory in infrastructure projects.

The UK MPA team is based in London, Birmingham, and Manchester; this role is based in one of these locations with travel across the UK and occasionally overseas.

The team member

You should have deep experience in cost and delivery intelligence solutions, with a vision for utilizing technology, benchmarking, and analytics to improve infrastructure outcomes. You will work with senior clients to enhance their project performance and cost efficiency.

This role suits those with significant post-qualification experience in commercial management, quantity surveying, project controls, engineering, or project management, with attributes including:

  • Understanding cost drivers in construction and infrastructure projects
  • Ability to interpret and utilize large data sets and reports
  • Experience in benchmarking and assessing project costs
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures to improve project performance
  • Leadership in approaching new challenges
  • Analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to produce clear, fact-based reports
  • Providing solutions based on experience and context
  • Familiarity with industry best practices and government guidance
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., MRICS, MICE, MACostE, MCIOB)
