The role – what we are looking for

We seek an Associate Director of Cost Consultancy to join our Manchester office. The successful candidate will uphold high standards of service, deliver successful outcomes for clients, share knowledge across projects, foster innovation, and strengthen our reputation across various projects including commercial new builds, residential, towers, and government frameworks.

Your core duties will involve:

  • Providing accurate cost advice and reports to clients
  • Participating in bid processes, including proposal drafting and industry events
  • Expanding the client base
  • Developing team performance and implementing growth plans
  • Managing billing and cash collection
  • Supporting budget planning and financial forecasting
  • Sharing best practices within the management team
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies
  • Conducting audits and peer reviews
  • Maintaining health and safety standards
  • Delivering projects and assignments effectively
  • Leading team objectives and working proactively
  • Ensuring effective communication for project success
  • Supervising junior team members
  • Managing projects with limited supervision
  • Representing the company professionally in client interactions

Desired Skills and Attributes

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • MRICS membership
  • Experience in private commercial sectors such as offices, residential, hospitality, etc.
  • Knowledge of local and national markets
  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency in CostX or similar software
  • Skills in sustainability and data analysis (Power BI, carbon assessment)
  • Pre- and post-contract experience
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Organized, diligent, proactive, assertive, and commercially aware
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude, respectful, adaptable
