The project:

Be a part of our cost consultancy business that spans our five global hubs, where you can oversee work for world leading organisations across the public and private sectors.

At Mace we are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about cost and commercial management. We are looking to recruit an associate director with an MEP background who can provide full cycle cost management services for end-to-end service delivery, often with respect to large and complex commissions within the public and private sector.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and maintain exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability and project compliance standards.
2. Possess sound technical expertise in local health and safety rules and regulations relevant to project portfolio.
3. Champion a diverse and inclusive working environment and understand the importance of the wellbeing of the people you manage.
4. Lead on estimating, and cost planning including ownership of and presenting cost plans.
5. Lead the procurement process, ensuring stages including prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively.
6. Deliver cost management services to achieve key strategic outcomes and KPIs, directly influencing strategic development of plans.

Qualifications:

1. Strong knowledge of MEP systems, sustainability technology and modern methods of construction.
2. Track record of winning and delivering work for private and public sector property clients covering multiple sectors.
3. Good working knowledge of contracts, estimating, valuations, cost reporting and financial modelling.
4. Experience in negotiating, influencing and communication skills to command professional respect at all levels.
5. Digitally savvy, able to build lasting client relationships and lead high performing teams within a commercial environment.
6. Degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent).
7. Professional membership i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent) and moving towards fellowship, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
8. Strong commercial and financial acumen.
9. Sound knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
10. Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
11. Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
12. Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
