The Role

WTW is looking for an Associate Director to join their Client Relationship Management team in London, specialising in the Natural Resources sector. This role centres on building and maintaining strong client partnerships within industries such as Oil and Gas. The successful candidate will leverage their deep Insurance market knowledge to deliver tailored insurance and risk management solutions that meet complex client needs.

Responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and prospects within the Oil and Gas sector, with accountability for client retention and new business development. You will manage and develop client and industry relationships, grow the portfolio within the business unit, and engage in cross-selling opportunities across other WTW business units.

  • Ability to understand the business dynamics, situations, opportunities, problems, and key issues faced by clients and prospects in the Oil and Gas sector.
  • Manage relationships and negotiate placements within the insurance market, particularly focusing on Oil and Gas related risks.
  • Prepare tailored presentations for clients and prospects, addressing specific industry needs.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Team to determine appropriate solutions and structure and price deals effectively for the Oil and Gas sector.
  • Assist in identifying suitable markets and developing placing strategies that align with industry trends.
  • Participate in information gathering exercises specific to the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with WTW guidelines and procedures.
  • Foster strong relationships and communication with WTW colleagues across various business units.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding and expertise in all relevant systems and tools applicable to the Oil and Gas sector.
Qualifications

The Requirements

  • Preferably ACII qualified or working towards the ACII qualification.
  • A proven track record in Insurance Broking or Underwriting is essential, with experience in the Oil and Gas sector being highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of the insurance market to address client and technical issues specific to Oil and Gas.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Methodical and innovative approach to problem-solving and client servicing.
  • Prepared to accept responsibility and lead initiatives within the Oil and Gas portfolio.
  • Excellent technical skills relevant to the industry.
  • Strong presentation abilities, capable of engaging Oil and Gas stakeholders.
  • Ability to assimilate and apply large volumes of industry-specific information rapidly.
  • Negotiation skills coupled with the flexibility and innovation required in the Oil and Gas market.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Able to prioritize, manage deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Comfortable explaining complex concepts and making recommendations to Oil and Gas clients and client servicing teams.
  • Must forge links between broking and other WTW client servicing teams, particularly focusing on Oil and Gas.
  • Ability to adapt personal style to work effectively with a wide range of clients, colleagues, and underwriters in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Committed to working with integrity and openness, complying at all times with FCA requirements.
  • Good IT skills with excellent Excel usage capability.
