Associate Director Building Surveying Location: Cornwall Type: Permanent, Full-Time Salary: £60,000-70,000 per annum, plus additional benefits ( see below)

Stafford Lawrence is engaged in a retained search for a Chartered Associate Director of Building Surveying for our multidisciplinary client for their offices in Cornwall. The position is a Full-time, permanent job vacancy with a well-known firm of Chartered Building Surveying Consultants. This well-known Building Surveying consultancy specialises in Building Surveying, Project Management , Contracts Administration and Party Wall advice and is a well-known provider of specialist Building surveying services in the area. They service a number of key clients across a variety of sectors and have an excellent reputation for providing the very best quality and service.

This role is based in their offices in Cornwall. We are seeking someone who is an all rounder and can cover both Commercial and Residential Building Surveying duties and work along side the Head of Building Surveying for the South West region.

Our client is very open to candidates who wish to relocate from another part of the UK to the Cornwall area.

Requirements for the Associate Director Building Surveying job vacancy in Cornwall

  • Ideally, we are seeking a Chartered ( MRICS) Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors Building Surveyor for this role. We have other vacancies for candidates who are working towards APC and Chartered Building Surveyor status in the area. This particular role requires MRICS.
  • Degree qualified with a BSc in Building Surveying, our client will also consider other construction-related degree qualifications that are RICS accredited.
  • In addition, experience in both Commercial and Residential Building Surveying.
  • Someone who has all round experience is key for this role, there will be a mix of building surveying, contracts administration, dilapidations and ideally if you have the experience some part wall advice
  • We are seeking someone with experience managing stakeholders and the ability to work independently and as part of a team, so you will have leadership experience.
  • It would also be desirable if you have experience managing and mentoring less senior members of a Building Surveying team..
  • A full clean UK driving licence is a requirement for this role as with all Building Surveyor careers, travel is required to client locations but this will not be excessive.

  • You will be engaged in a range of Building Surveying and Project Management duties across a number of sectors, in both the public and private sectors such as education, commercial residential ( social and private) defence and conservation.
  • The successful building surveyor will work as part of an experienced team on projects in County of Cornwall, responsible for managing your own projects from inception to completion.
  • Using your client liaison experience you will promote the organisation and develop and maintain good client relationships with a view to securing repeat business.
  • You will be engaged in the following duties as part of your role:
    • Traditional Design and Build and refurbishments
    • Contract Administration
    • Building Surveys
    • Dilapidations
    • Part Wall
    • Client Liaison and Management
    • Preparation of tender packages
    • Mentoring less senior members of the team
  • You will report to the Head of Building Surveying for the South West Region

Salary & Benefits for the MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor Vacancy in Cornwall

This is a full-time permanent role. Our client will consider Building Surveyors who are currently freelancing and wish to move back to a permanent position.

The successful MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor who meets all requirements can expect a salary of £60-70,000per annum. As well as a great basic you can expect a number of other great benefits.
