Role Background:

As a result of new project wins at Naismiths, we are looking to grow our multi-disciplinary, London-based, building consultancy team, providing technical expertise and support to our clients across their construction projects and assets. As an Associate Director, you will be involved in delivering high profile and varied work across a range of sectors.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Project Management, planning, budgeting and reporting - ability to plan and execute an assignment or project in support of defined client objectives, planning resources appropriately and providing effective reporting.
  • Leadership skills - leads by example, demonstrating integrity and innovation, to deliver business results by creating a shared vision and communicating this clearly and enthusiastically to motivate and inspire others.
  • Strategic thinking - demonstrates “thought leadership” and the ability to think broadly, creating sound business strategies which anticipate and respond to future challenges with innovative, sustainable and creative solutions.
  • Technical - has the ability to handle the technical complexities in products, services, transactions and systems or processes, with a focus on continuous learning in area of expertise.
  • Financial management– impact on the overall profit within the context of individual responsibility and an awareness and understanding of productivity, profitability, and effective financial management.
  • Business development - generates new business through creative marketing and by pursuing product or client development initiatives. Focuses heavily on the formation of new client relationships and the expansion and deepening of existing relationships.
  • Client relationships – adeptly manages internal and/or external client relationships, maintaining the highest professional standards, builds trust and gains respect, providing superior client service by listening to clients, anticipating their needs and delivering value.
  • Managing self and others – seeks development opportunities to grow,manages the performance and development of others, selecting and retaining outstanding talent, establishing performance goals and standards and delegating responsibility and empowerment appropriately. Works effectively with others regardless of role, business unit or location.
  • Compliance – follows our practice ways of working, using systems to enable as required.

Requirements:

  • Ideally degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Will be either working towards chartered status, or have achieved MRICS accreditation.
  • A proactive attitude, well organised with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Client centric, confident, with a collaborative approach.

  • A full UK driving licence, with unrestricted use of a car is essential to enable site visits.
