Associate Director/Associate – Structured & Private Debt, Private Markets

This is a great job for someone with a strong understanding of Financial Markets and Institutional Investors’ investment requirements.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated individual to join Aviva Investors as an Associate within the Structured & Private Debt (S&PD) team. This full-time role, based in London, offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and multi-skilled team responsible for the origination, structuring, and execution of private debt transactions. The successful candidate will collaborate across multiple countries, business sectors, and departments within Aviva Investors and the wider Aviva Group. Key responsibilities include assisting with financial modelling, structuring and execution of private debt opportunities and associated derivatives, preparing and presenting investment analysis to internal and external investment committees, and engaging with stakeholders such as risk, credit, operations, and investors. The role also involves researching new asset classes and conducting risk/return and feasibility analysis to support investment recommendations.

Qualifications
  • Strong academic record with a quantitative degree

  • Relevant capital markets, corporate and public finance experience

  • Experience of structured or private debt investment products, particularly fund financing transactions and securitised products

  • Experience of using external credit rating agencies rating methodologies to rate private transactions

  • Progressing towards professional qualification (CFA, CAIA or any other industry specific qualification)

In this role you’ll be ‘Certified’ under the Financial Conduct Authority / Prudential Regulation Authority’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR). This means that we’ll need to complete some regulatory background checks on you before you take up your role and we’ll need to ask you some questions on an annual basis to make sure you remain ‘fit and proper’ and competent to carry out your role. We’ll provide training on what holding a SMCR role means when you join us and annually thereafter.
