Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an Associate Director in Aquatic Ecology to lead a dedicated technical team and manage complex environmental projects both in the UK and internationally. The role requires a degree in ecology or biological sciences and demonstrated consultancy experience, alongside the ability to engage with clients and environmental regulators. This is a leadership role involving business development, team growth, and fostering junior staff capabilities.

Qualifications

• A degree in a relevant subject, such as ecology or other biological sciences, and/or a relevant postgraduate qualification.
• Demonstrable commercial consultancy experience.
• Extensive knowledge of UK and EU Wildlife Legislation.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across the Ecology team for aquatic investigations.
• Act as technical lead for consent related technical assessments.
• Business development and client liaison.
