About the Company

Our partner is seeking a Manager/Associate Director to lead strategic intelligence projects across Africa. This role is ideal for an independent and analytical thinker with a strong background in strategic consultancy or commercial advisory.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing commercial due diligence and counterparty analysis across various sectors in Africa. This position will be based in our partner's London office.

Responsibilities

- Determine lines of inquiry and focus areas based on assessments of commercial, regulatory, and political risks.

- Develop strategies for interviewing and engaging human sources.

- Create research and public records strategies.

- Evaluate source materials and research streams, including assessing the credibility of intelligence sources and reported issues.

- Conduct debriefings for clients, providing commercially accurate and structured briefings.

- Draft comprehensive written reports, synthesizing investigative materials and identifying key issues.

- Build and maintain intelligence source networks across African geographies and industries, addressing coverage gaps.

Requirements

- Fluency in English with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

- Extensive knowledge of political and commercial affairs in Africa, along with an understanding of the risks faced by investors.

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in producing complex commercial writing and advisory roles.

- Preferred: Existing professional network across Africa and fluency in French.

- Preferred: 2-3 years’ project management experience.

- Key competencies include high commercial and cultural awareness, ability to work under pressure, strong presentation skills, attention to detail, and analytical capabilities.

Compensation and Benefits

- 60-70K
