Job summary

TDM Recruitment Group partners with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy in Cambridge to recruit an Associate Director who will help lead the planning team on major growth projects from early promotion through to consent.

You will work on new settlements, urban extensions, strategic land, masterplans, plus life sciences, education and logistics, sitting with in-house transport, engineering, environment and landscape colleagues to lead whole schemes.

Qualifications

• MRTPI is required.
• A strong track record on large residential-led schemes, ideally urban extensions or strategic land promotion.
• Consultancy background preferred, though developer or local authority planners with major-sites experience will be considered.
• Commercial, industrial or logistics experience is a real plus.
• Comfortable winning work as well as delivering it.

Responsibilities

• Lead major applications, appeals and Local Plan representations across the East of England.
• Advise clients directly and build relationships that bring in repeat work.
• Write fee proposals and tenders and contribute to business development.
• Represent clients at hearings, examinations and consultations.
• Build and mentor the team with a direct line to the Head of Planning.

I’m working with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy that’s growing its planning team in Cambridge, and they need an Associate Director to help lead it.

Cambridge has some of the biggest growth projects in the country, and this team works on them from early promotion through to consent. New settlements, urban extensions, strategic land and masterplans, plus life sciences, education and logistics. Planners sit alongside in-house transport, engineering, environment and landscape colleagues, so you’ll be leading whole schemes rather than just writing the planning statement.

The role

• Leading major applications, appeals and Local Plan representations across the East of England
• Advising clients directly and building relationships that bring in repeat work
• Writing fee proposals and tenders, and playing a real part in business development
• Representing clients at hearings, examinations and consultations
