Their Infrastructure Engineering team in particular is expanding, and we are now seeking an exceptional Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer to join as an Associate.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior, hands-on leadership role with a firm that values both technical depth and people-first leadership.

Role Overview:

As an Associate, you’ll take ownership of project delivery from concept through to completion, support and supervise engineers, lead client relationships, and help shape the strategic direction of the Infrastructure team. You’ll work closely with the Director of Infrastructure Engineering and play a pivotal role in mentoring the next generation of engineering talent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Supervising Civil Engineer, overseeing design quality and team development
  • Manage full project lifecycle — from feasibility to delivery
  • Prepare clear, tailored fee proposals and quotations, even from underdeveloped briefs
  • Support high-quality tender submissions with written responses, pricing, and documentation
  • Provide senior-level input on projects while supporting project leads and encouraging cross-discipline collaboration
  • Maintain and grow strong client relationships, acting as a trusted technical advisor
  • Lead on performance tracking using Earned Value Analysis and manage resource planning
  • Champion quality, compliance, and Safety by Design throughout project stages
  • Oversee change control, technical risk mitigation, and ensure CDM compliance
  • Mentor and guide junior staff, support team development and skills progression
  • Lead from the front, taking a hands-on approach to engineering challenges when needed

Candidate Requirements:

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE and/or IStructE)
  • Proven track record of delivering civil/structural infrastructure projects at a senior level
  • Strong understanding of UK design codes, Eurocodes, and industry standards
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Leadership experience with an emotionally intelligent, team-first approach
  • Comfortable managing budgets, deadlines, and complex delivery milestones
  • Hands-on technical skills and a passion for mentoring high-performing teams
