Job summary

Bupa Dental Care in Cardiff Canton is seeking an Associate Dentist to join a flexible, well-supported mixed NHS/private role. The practice offers an NHS package with no UDA targets and potential private earnings, plus a collaborative team environment.

The position runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays (8:45am–5:45pm). NHS lab fees are fully reimbursed and private/labs support is available to grow your patient base.

Qualifications

• GDC registration is required to practice dentistry in Wales.
• Welsh NHS performer number is essential for NHS work in Wales.
• Willingness to work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays as listed in the role description.

Responsibilities

• Provide a broad mix of private and NHS dentistry in line with NHS Wales reform.
• Deliver comprehensive exams, preventive care and risk-based recalls.
• Perform routine and advanced restorative treatments and urgent care as needed.
• Manage a patient cohort with emphasis on long-term outcomes and access for new patients.

Your role

You’ll deliver a broad range of private and NHS treatments, in line with the NHS Wales reform framework, including:

• Comprehensive exams and risk-based recalls
• Preventative and oral health care
• Routine and complex restorative treatments
• Urgent and emergency care for new and existing patients
  

You’ll manage your own patient cohort, focusing on long-term outcomes, access for new patients, and prioritising clinical need—giving you more time to deliver high-quality care.
