Job Summary

Responsible for primary coverage of sector credits in the primary and secondary market, assisting senior analysts and portfolio managers with underwriting of investment opportunities and ongoing monitoring of portfolio credits. Prior sector experience in software, hotels, and gaming preferred but not required. This position will be primarily based in London, UK.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct fundamental credit analysis, financial modeling and forecasting, and underwriting of investment opportunities in both the primary deal pipeline and secondary market
  • Monitor and report on performance of portfolio investments in designated industry sectors
  • Maintain credit database in Allvue/Black Mountain by entering financial data as needed on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Build financial forecast models, including forecasting revenue and EBITDA, and leverage. Analysts are expected to generate multiple forecast scenarios.
  • Complete ad hoc reporting and investment analysis
  • Engage with corporate management in-person and participate in quarterly and annual calls with obligors
  • Assist with development of portfolio and sector strategy
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • At least 3 – 6 years experience with leveraged finance in an asset management or investment banking setting and/or relevant academic credentials. Experience can be buy-side, sell-side (banking background), or from one of the major rating agencies.
  • Strong analytical ability (quantitative and logical reasoning)
  • Prior financial modeling experience.
  • Working understanding of Bloomberg and its capabilities. Models are linked to Bloomberg API.
  • Strong communication skills – written and oral
  • Mature and focused work ethic
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred, or active plan to work towards earning the Chartered Financial Analyst designation
