Job description

This position sits in ourMarketing & Technology service based in London. We combine data, technology, creative content, and paid media to crack brands’ business problems & drive revenue through a variety of digital marketing solutions like ad campaigns, augmented reality, and chatbots. Our clients include ASOS, Just Eat Takeaway, Twitch, TikTok, and The White Company.

JOB PURPOSE

We’re on the hunt for a social-obsessed, exceptional ACD to join DEPT’s creative team, specialising in leading thriving social teams to be happy, healthy and performing at a top level. The role – responsible for organic social and digital content – requires experience in leading social teams including resourcing, task allocation and pastoral care, reporting into an Editorial Director.

The ACD will need to have a rounded view of creative, strategy, insights and reporting and be able to translate these into clear direction for a team of creatives producing a high volume of content for our brand’s channels and placing them in culture and connecting with communities.

You’ll have extensive experience of leading large social teams and growing them either in-house, or at a social content agency, to ensure both creative excellence and processes are kept at a high level as we develop and grow. The role requires a deep knowledge of social media including trends, platform knowledge, social listening, cultural insights, creator programmes, media and data to inform creative decisions.

Knowledge of best practice including platform strategy, creative and content, social strategy, production and reporting is key, as well as being comfortable upholding excellence when it comes to implementing processes and new ways of working.

Presentation skills are essential as this person will be an important face for key clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Craft brilliant, stand-out social-first ideas that capture attention and inspire our clients and internal creatives
  • Create opportunities for account growth through selling brilliant creative campaigns that have community and culture at the heart of them
  • Strategic thinking to lead your roster of clients to success through excellent content
  • Lead, develop, motivate and inspire DEPT’s social team and encourage collaboration
  • Work closely with the accounts team to ensure a smooth monthly production process
  • Short term and long term content planning for client accounts
  • Set objectives and performance goals for the team
  • Suggest best ways of working, and hustle for the best opportunities
  • Balance hands-on vs oversight of projects effectively
  • Deliver and inspire innovative and high quality work across all deliverables from the team
  • Be aware of and respond to current advertising and media trends and pop culture
  • Use experience and ideas to contribute to the development of our creative process
  • Present work internally and externally to an excellent standard
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments
  • Initiate and facilitate creative team collaboration and sharing, and team cohesion through social and team building initiatives
  • Recruitment and pastoral care of a large creative team.

SKILLS AND PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

  • Social-first thinking at the heart of all ideas and concepts
  • A love for social, including organic social
  • Strategically minded with the ability to sell bigger ideas
  • Solid experience within editorial either in-house or at an agency
  • Expert knowledge of social media and digital marketing
  • Experience of building a creative team
  • Outstanding portfolio of work that works

  • High attention to visual and copywriting details
  • Ability to remain focused under pressure within a fast-paced environment
  • A love for learning new things and exploring new mediums
