WePlay is a proud member of the rEvolution family and as an official marketing partner of Google, Meta, and Microsoft, continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the sports marketing industry. Our mission is to service a new breed of brand, to engage a new breed of fan.

The Role

We’re looking for a seasoned, energetic Associate Creative Director to join our fast-growing creative team. This is a hands-on, senior-level role for someone with experience leading high-profile campaigns and content production—particularly in sport or entertainment.

Reporting into the Executive Creative Director, you’ll feed into creative direction on shoots and activations across multiple client accounts. You’ll travel to major global sporting events and manage on-site creative execution—working closely with producers, clients, talent, and our internal team to ensure our ideas land with impact.

You’ll be a sharp, strategic thinker with outstanding creative instincts and a strong eye for visual storytelling. From pitch to post, you’ll help bring bold ideas to life, delivering best-in-class campaigns that engage fans and elevate brands.

This role will work closely with our in-house producer and the wider creative, strategy, and client teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working alongside the ECD you will support the creative execution of content campaigns for global sports and lifestyle clients - particularly on location at major live events.
  • Drive creative shoots and content capture, ensuring alignment with the original concept, brand goals, and platform best practice.
  • Collaborate with producers, directors, photographers, and crew on-set to deliver world-class content.
  • Translate campaign ideas into actionable content plans and creative briefs.
  • Work closely with the Executive Creative Director to develop and refine creative concepts.
  • Guide and mentor midweight and junior creatives—ensuring consistency, innovation, and excellence across all output.
  • Contribute to pitch development, client presentations, and campaign planning.
  • Support content reviews, feedback loops, and quality control on deliverables.
  • Stay ahead of creative, cultural, and platform trends to help drive new approaches to storytelling and content creation.
  • Manage production timelines, vendor relationships, and quality or cost controls
  • Communicate cross-functionally to understand creative needs

About You

  • 8+ years of creative experience.
  • Proven track record working on high-quality shoots and content creation in sport, entertainment, or lifestyle.
  • Experience developing ideas that span from social-first formats to hero campaign moments.
  • Confident directing talent, working with clients, and managing fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
  • Deep understanding of creative strategy, digital platforms, and fan engagement.
  • Skilled at turning strategic insight into compelling creative ideas and visual direction.
  • A strong communicator with excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable travelling globally for shoots and events (travel required regularly).
  • Strong visual eye—bonus points for background in design, video, photography, or art direction.
  • An interest in trends and brand campaigns on social media.
  • Ideally experience working with motion software including premier pro/davinci/after effects.
  • Current portfolio to be submitted with your application.

About the Benefits

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
  • Flexible working environment (hybrid) – 2 days per week at London offices.
  • 30 days of holiday per year, plus standard Bank Holidays.
  • Christmas closure for holidays
  • Access to WePlay Academy Training and external knowledge shares.
  • Monthly socials and industry event access.
  • Enhanced parental leave policies.
  • Mental wellness support, including access to the Calm App

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

WePlay is deeply committed to creating an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone can thrive. We actively encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds - especially those underrepresented in our industry.

If this role excites you, but you don’t meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply. The right mindset, ambition, passion and willingness to learn matters just as much as experience.
