Amazon Studios is the movies and television development and production arm of Amazon. It is our role to produce original content worldwide in exclusive service of Amazon’s Prime Video customers. We need your passion, innovative ideas, and creativity to help take us to new heights. Amazon Studios has an opening for an Associate Corporate Counsel to support scripted and unscripted projects to be produced in the United Kingdom. Over the past 6 years, we have debuted award-winning and ground-breaking programming like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Jack Ryan, The Boys, Carnival Row, The Rig, Clarkson's Farm, Road to a Million, and Devil's Hour.

Key job responsibilities:

  1. Handle all legal aspects of development, production, and marketing of original TV content in support of Amazon’s scripted and unscripted television initiatives in Europe.
  2. Develop forms and policies, structure, draft, and negotiate a wide range of agreements including rights option and acquisition agreements, writer agreements, producer agreements, production services agreements, co-financing agreements, talent agreements, and other production-related agreements.
  3. Manage legal matters during development, production, and marketing, including rights evaluation, chain of title confirmation, clearance matters, guild issues, standards and practices review, and publicity issues.
  4. Analyze and interpret contracts, provide legal advice on risks, and ensure compliance with international legal standards in areas like intellectual property, digital media, entertainment, labor, and regulations.
  5. Travel domestically and internationally as required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2+ years of attorney experience in development, production, and marketing, including drafting and negotiating contracts.
  • Experience with a studio, production company, or entertainment law firm, with strong contract negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyze business processes, identify issues, and propose solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with management and teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong legal and business judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for coordinating with diverse management levels and teams.
