Reporting to the Drug Product Division (DPD) Lead Counsel Europe, the Associate Corporate Counsel will primarily support the European DPD sites, including Ferentino and Monza, Italy; Tilburg, Netherlands; Bourgoin, France; and Swindon, United Kingdom. As part of the global DPD Legal team, this role may also support North American DPD sites located in Bend, Oregon; Toronto, Canada; Whitby, Canada; Greenville, North Carolina; Cincinnati, Ohio; Manati, Puerto Rico; and High Point, North Carolina.

This is an on-site role based at our office in Inchinnan (Glasgow).

Key responsibilities:
  1. Provide front-line legal support for site operations across DPD Europe sites.
  2. Offer legal advice on a broad range of legal, regulatory, and compliance areas, including commercial, anti-trust, regulatory, licensing, controlled substances, quality, and data privacy.
  3. Assess legal risks and recommend mitigation strategies to Sites and senior management.
  4. Advise on complex commercial disputes, vendor and client escalations, investigations, and dispute resolution.
  5. Collaborate with Group Contracting, Regional, and Functional counsel for support on legal matters.
  6. Support contracts related to client services and sourcing, including drafting, review, and negotiation of proposals, SOWs, etc.
  7. Serve as a subject matter expert to lead and drive solutions for legal and business issues.
  8. Provide training on contract requirements and legal matters to other functional groups within DPD.
  9. Work with project teams on strategic initiatives related to business growth and expansion within Europe.
Experience:
  • Qualified lawyer in a European jurisdiction (preferably UK) from an recognized university/law school.
  • Strong PQE, ideally with in-house or international law firm experience, with a focus on commercial law, gained from fast-paced consumer goods or multinational companies. Experience in life sciences, healthcare, or highly regulated sectors is a plus.
  • Customer-centric, solutions-oriented approach supporting external and internal clients while safeguarding company interests.
  • Ability to deliver results under tight deadlines with high accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills; team-oriented.
  • Committed to fostering an inclusive environment that values diverse viewpoints.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and document comparison software.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 15-20%.
  • Law firm experience is advantageous.
