Job summary

Cloudscaler in Central London is hiring for an Associate Engineer to kick‑start a career in AI, data and cloud. This graduate role offers hands‑on problems from day one, with onboarding sessions and mentoring aimed at SFIA Level 3 within the first year.

You will work in a hybrid setup (4 days on site) and collaborate with senior engineers while pursuing AWS and Anthropic certifications. A strong degree in data science or CS, Python ability, and a willingness to undergo DV clearance are essential

Qualifications

• Degree in Data Science or Computer Science (2:1 or above preferred).
• Strong programming ability in Python and interest in AI, data and cloud engineering.
• Motivation to build a professional engineering career and quickly develop on live work.
• Clear, honest communication and collaborative attitude; willingness to take feedback.
• Security clearance: eligible for Developed Vetting (DV) and UK nationality/residency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Build AI agents: design, prototype, and deploy agentic solutions using Python, LLMs, and AWS services.
• Work with data: prepare and integrate data from internal systems, and evaluate rigorously whether your solutions actually work.
• Ship to a standard: move solutions from prototype towards production, with proper testing, monitoring, and documentation.
• Write like a professional: produce clear technical documentation, decision records, and status updates.
• Work commercially: record your time accurately, work in Agile and Kanban rhythms, and take part in stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Use AI well: use Claude in your day-to-day work, and learn when to trust AI output and when to verify it.
