About the Team

As part of Waitaha Canterbury Specialist Mental Health Services, the Crisis Resolution Community Mental Health team provides urgent and acute mental health care through a 24/7 service, offering assessment, treatment, and support to individuals experiencing psychiatric crises.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Registered Health Professional (Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Social Worker) to join us as an Associate Clinical Manager. This is a permanent full-time position (0.94FTE) with a 4x2 roster pattern, primarily day and afternoon shifts.

Skills and Experience

We seek an experienced, enthusiastic, and dynamic health professional with a drive to support the operational aspects of a busy and challenging service. Working alongside the Clinical Manager, you will foster an environment where staff are valued, providing brief episode, high-level clinical care that is compassionate and focused on consumers and whānau/families. Your proven leadership skills will enable you to develop and extend practice, support staff development, and ensure high standards of care.

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with effective communication and positive relationship-building skills at all levels;
  • Ability to facilitate and provide high-quality professional practice and expert leadership within the service;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with outpatient and inpatient teams and across the wider mental health system;
  • Certification as a Duly Authorized Officer for the Mental Health Act is advantageous (training will be provided if not currently certified);
  • Strong clinical and operational leadership skills with at least 5 years of mental health experience;
  • Registered Health Professional (Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Social Worker) with current APC and Mental Health Scope of Practice.
