Job summary

DWF Law LLP in Manchester is recruiting an ambitious Associate Solicitor to join our nationally recognised Catastrophic Loss team. You will handle multi-track personal injury and catastrophic loss matters, advising insurers and corporate clients on liability, quantum, and strategy.

The role offers hybrid working with a requirement to attend the Manchester office at least 2 days per week. PQE of 3–7 years and strong academics are preferred for progression within a leading team.

Qualifications

• Experienced Associate Solicitor with PQE 3–7 years.
• Experience handling or assisting on defendant multi-track Catastrophic Loss and Personal Injury matters.
• Involvement with Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs), Employers’ Liability (EL), and Public Liability (PL).
• Strong academic record and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a multi-track personal injury and catastrophic loss caseload; assist senior team on high-value, complex cases.
• Advise clients, including insurers and corporate clients, on liability, quantum, and litigation strategy.
• Draft documents, prepare for court, and engage in settlement negotiations.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service delivery.
• Stay updated on developments in catastrophic injury and insurance law.

The team represent a wide range of leading insurers, including many household names, specialising in complex, high value cases. These cases include Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs), Employers’ Liability (EL), and Public Liability (PL) matters, with claim values ranging from £150,000 to £20 million.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team handling some of the most challenging and rewarding cases in the industry with opportunities for progression.

The role is hybrid and we would expect the successful individual to attend the Manchester office a minimum of 2 days per week.

Responsibilities

• To handle a multi-track personal injury and catastrophic loss caseload, in addition to assisting senior team members on high value complex cases.
• Advising clients, including insurers and corporate clients, on liability, quantum, and litigation strategy.
• Drafting documents, preparing for court, and engaging in settlement negotiations.
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships through excellent service delivery.
• Staying updated on legal developments in catastrophic injury and insurance law.

What will help you succeed in this role?

Essential;

• An experience Associate Solicitor, with PQE ranging from 3 - 7 years.
• Experience handling or assisting on defendant multi-track Catastrophic Loss and Personal injury case, including Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs), Employers’ Liability (EL), and Public Liability (PL).
  • Those with experience assisting or leading onclaim values ranging from £150,000 to £20 million will be advantageous.
• Strong technical knowledge of personal injury law, liability, and quantum assessment.
• Exceptional analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• A commitment to delivering outstanding service and results.
• Strong academics.
