Job summary

WSP is expanding its Buildings Technology Systems (BTS) team and seeks a Smart Building & System Integration technical specialist. You will oversee design, project management and delivery from inception through handover, taking a key technical leadership role across concept to detailed design.

You will lead design and delivery of smart building integration projects, develop architectures that integrate building systems with enterprise IT, address cybersecurity and resilience, and mentor junior

Qualifications

  • Interest and experience in emerging technologies in the built environment.
  • Experience in smart building technology design and project delivery on medium to large buildings.
  • Ability to develop detailed design and performance specifications and documentation for approval.
  • Understanding cybersecurity considerations for smart building implementations.
  • Knowledge of smart building rating systems (SmartScore, WELL, LEED, NABERS, BREEAM).
  • Experience with modern IoT, cloud platforms, enterprise systems and building automation.
  • Strong communication skills for graphical and detailed technical presentations.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK and the ability to achieve SC-level UK security clearance.
  • CIBSE, IET, Engineering Council accreditation or chartership preferred.

  • Produce detailed design and performance specifications, and review reports and designs to evaluate technical compliance.
  • Provide clear technical leadership and mentorship to project teams and junior colleagues.
  • Contribute to bids and proposals and support identification of new opportunities.

Job description

You will be joining our expanding Buildings Technology Systems (BTS) team at WSP as a Smart Building & System Integration technical specialist. Team & Projects

The UK Building Services Team delivers projects ranging from high‑rise towers, to data centres, to stadiums and healthcare facilities. Team members work closely with building owners, tenants and developers on complex projects across the UK.
