AtkinsRéalis Infrastructure division has a vacancy in our London office for an Associate Chartered Building Surveyor to work in a multi-disciplinary environment, delivering a full suite of Building Surveying duties. This position is ideal for an Associate Level Chartered Building Surveyor with post-qualification experience looking to develop their career within a forward-thinking organization.
Responsibilities:
- Managing a variety of projects across different sectors, performing building surveying and project management duties.
- Assisting in developing new and repeat business across sectors.
- Managing client relationships and ensuring service delivery per project.
- Supporting senior managers in daily business operations, including:
- Project management and contract administration for larger projects.
- Condition and measured surveys.
- Designing and implementing small to medium projects.
- Due diligence surveys.
- Applying standard forms of building contracts like JCT and NEC.
- Staying updated on industry issues and best practices.
- Developing bids and managing bid processes.
- Acting as the primary client interface, ensuring quality and timeliness of services.
- Gaining experience in sectors such as education, local authorities, healthcare, government, and infrastructure projects.
- Conducting defect analysis, building surveys, and producing reports and specifications.
- Mentoring junior surveyors and participating in the APC program.
- Understanding principles of quality, safety, and environmental management in projects.
- Delivering pre- and post-contract project management services.
- Managing frameworks, delivering commissions, maintaining client relationships, and supporting revenue targets.
Requirements:
- BSc (Hons) Building Surveying, RICS accredited.
- Full member of RICS.
- Proven all-round surveying experience, client-facing with work-winning skills.
- Experience in pre- and post-contract project management.
- Strong team working and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel.
- Ability to collaborate with senior colleagues and build a profitable service.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and awareness of BIM systems.
- Experience in managing and mentoring team members, including APC graduates.
- Experience in client management and expectation setting.
- Understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
