Property Partners Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an experienced Associate Building Surveyor to join its Building Consultancy team in Swindon. You will manage client relationships, lead projects and support junior surveyors toward chartership.

This role offers hybrid working, a broad range of professional and project-based surveying for institutional clients, and clear career progression within a national consultancy.

Qualifications

• MRICS chartered Building Surveyor with strong commercial experience.
• Experience in professional and project-based surveying within commercial property.
• Experience managing refurbishment and maintenance projects.
• Ability to work independently, manage clients and mentor juniors.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional and project-based building surveying services for commercial property.
• Undertake technical due diligence, pre-acquisition surveys, dilapidations and SOR.
• Advise on defects, fire safety, planned maintenance and other property issues.
• Manage refurbishment and alteration projects from start to completion.
• Act as Contract Administrator, Project Manager or Designer on commercial schemes.
• Manage multiple instructions for institutional clients and landlords.
• Build strong client relationships and mentor junior surveyors.
• Contribute to business development for the Building Consultancy team.

Job description

An established national commercial property consultancy is seeking an experienced Associate Building Surveyor to join its Building Consultancy team in Swindon. This is an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Building Surveyor to take a senior role managing client relationships, leading projects and supporting the development of junior surveyors.

Role & Responsibilities of the Associate Building Surveyor:

• Deliver a broad range of professional and project-based building surveying services across commercial property
• Undertake technical due diligence, pre-acquisition surveys, dilapidations and schedules of condition
• Provide advice on building defects, fire safety, planned maintenance and other property-related matters
• Manage refurbishment, maintenance and alteration projects from inception through to completion
• Act as Contract Administrator, Project Manager or Designer on a variety of commercial projects
• Manage multiple instructions for institutional investors, commercial landlords and property companies
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, tenants and consultants
• Advise clients on sustainability, ESG initiatives and the long-term management of their property assets
• Support, mentor and manage junior Building Surveyors, including those working towards chartership
• Contribute to business development and the continued growth of the Building Consultancy team

Skills & Experience

• MRICS qualified Building Surveyor
• Strong experience within a commercial building surveying consultancy
• Good technical knowledge across professional and project-based building surveying services
• Experience managing commercial refurbishment and maintenance projects
• Confident managing instructions independently and maintaining client relationships
• Strong understanding of dilapidations, technical due diligence and contract administration
• Excellent communication, report writing and organisational skills
• Commercially aware with a proactive approach to developing client relationships
• Previous experience mentoring or managing junior surveyors would be advantageous
