We are currently looking for an experienced and ambitious Associate Director to join their growing team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a senior role, overseeing project and professional services for key institutional clients while managing a talented team and contributing to the strategic growth of the business.

The Role
As Associate Director – Building Surveying, you will be responsible for managing a variety of complex and high-profile building surveying projects and professional services for institutional clients. You will work closely with senior leadership to drive the strategic direction of the department and ensure exceptional service delivery. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a client-facing, fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to business development, team leadership, and project success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage building surveying projects for large institutions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work on time and within budget.
  • Oversee a range of professional services, including dilapidations, schedules of condition, party wall matters, building surveys, and asset management advice.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients and develop long-term relationships with key institutional stakeholders.
  • Manage and mentor a team of surveyors, providing guidance and supporting their professional development.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, identifying new opportunities and managing client relationships.
  • Liaise with contractors, architects, and other consultants to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Assist in the preparation of fee proposals and tenders for new work.
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of client portfolios, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the wider team with technical expertise and leadership, contributing to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the firm.

About You
We are seeking an experienced Building Surveyor with the following qualifications and experience:

  • MRICS qualification (or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience in building surveying.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale projects for institutional clients, with a strong track record of delivering professional services.
  • Strong technical expertise across building surveying disciplines, including dilapidations, condition surveys, project management, and asset management.
  • Experience in leading teams and managing client relationships effectively.
  • A proactive approach to business development, with a demonstrated ability to win new work and expand existing relationships.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • A commercial mindset and the ability to manage budgets and financials for multiple projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage a diverse workload.
  • Experience with business development and contributing to the growth of a team or department is highly advantageous.
