Job summary

Ridge and Partners LLP in Cambridge is seeking an experienced Senior Associate Building Surveyor to lead commissions, mentor surveyors and drive client delivery across education, commercial, industrial and residential sectors.

You will work with Project Management and Building Services teams, oversee APC progression, manage budgets, and help grow the Cambridge office with a strong focus on quality, governance and commercial performance.

Qualifications

• Chartered Member or Fellow of RICS (MRICS/FRICS).
• Significant PQE in Building Surveying consultancy.
• Experience leading professional and project-based surveys.
• Strong technical knowledge across Building Surveying disciplines.
• Experience managing client relationships and mentoring teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and financial management.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of professional and project-led Building Surveying instructions across sectors.
• Act as Project Lead and Lead Consultant, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.
• Deliver a full range of Building Surveying services: Contract Admin, Due Diligence, Pathology, Dilapidations, Schedules of Condition, PPM, RCAs, Design and Refurbishment.
• Ensure projects are delivered to programme, budget and quality expectations.
• Maintain a strong focus on commercial performance, profitability and risk management.
• Support leadership and development of the Cambridge Building Surveying team.
• Mentor surveyors and assist APC progression.
• Promote collaboration and continuous improvement across the business.
• Foster a positive, client-focused team culture.

As one of the largest teams of Chartered Surveyors in the property sector, with over 100 Building Surveyors operating across the UK, our Cambridge Building Surveying team is continuing to grow and has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Associate Building Surveyor.

Working alongside established Project Management and Building Services Engineering teams, you will play a key role in the leadership and growth of the Cambridge office, delivering high-quality Building Surveying services to a diverse client base across the education, commercial office, industrial, healthcare, retail and residential sectors.

This is a senior leadership position suited to an ambitious Chartered Surveyor who combines strong technical expertise with proven client relationship, business development and team management skills. You will lead commissions, develop client accounts, mentor surveyors and support the strategic growth of the Building Surveying team in Cambridge.

Key Responsibilities

Client and Project Delivery

• Lead the delivery of professional and project-led Building Surveying instructions across a broad range of sectors.
• Act as Project Lead and Lead Consultant, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring successful project outcomes.
• Deliver a full range of Building Surveying services, including:
