Job summary

Pick Everard in Glasgow is seeking an Associate Building Services Engineer (Electrical) to deliver technical and commercial solutions across private and public sectors, including education, custodial, defence, healthcare, and data centers. You will lead designs, feasibility studies and contract documents while mentoring junior staff.

The role requires HND/degree and the ability to obtain UK security clearance.

Qualifications

• HND or degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Knowledge of BS7671 and UK building regulations.
• H&S/CDM requirements knowledge.
• Experience with electrical and lighting design software Hevacomp/Amtech/Dialux.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience in fire alarm and emergency lighting design.
• Understanding of construction design processes and procurement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver portfolios of electrical building services work across sectors.
• Prepare designs, feasibility studies, reports and contract documents.
• Carry out building analysis and manage contracts.
• Liaise with clients and contractors to ensure timely delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and trainees.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.

This role is to join our dynamic team based in our vibrant, centrally located Glasgow office. You will bedelivering exceptional technical and commercial solutions to a range of clients across theprivate and public sector; includingeducation, custodial, defence, healthcare, leisure, data and commercial. The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of UK security clearance in order to work on certain projects. The required clearance level will depend on the nature of the work and the sensitivity of the information involved. Your core responsibilities will include: Delivering portfolios of work across both the private and public sector. Preparing designs,feasibility studies, reports, and contract documents. Carrying out building analysis. Managing various contracts. Liaising directly with Clients and Contractors. Ensuringprojects are delivered accurately and on time. Providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and graduate trainees. Compliance withHealth & Safety requirements, practices and procedures.

About You

• HND/Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• No restrictions to obtain Security Clearance for secure projects.
• Knowledge and understanding of BS7671.
• Knowledge of H&S/CDM requirements and current legislation e.g., UK Building Regulations.
• Familiarity with electrical and lighting design softwares such as Hevacomp/Amtech/Dialux.
• Excellent communication skills, collaborative and self - motivated.
• Structured wiring system and security system design experience.
• Knowledge of construction industry design processes and procurement arrangements.
• Fire alarm and emergency lighting design experience.
