Job summary

Pick Everard in Leicester is seeking an ambitious Building Services Engineer (Electrical) to join our national multidisciplinary team. You will craft electrical system designs for diverse built environment projects and work closely with clients, contractors and internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

You’ll have a clear development pathway toward Chartership with mentorship, training and resources to advance your career within our 780+-strong nationwide team.

Qualifications

• HND/Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Knowledge of BS7671 (IEE Wiring Regulations).
• LV and HV systems design experience.
• Fire alarm and emergency lighting design experience.
• Familiarity with electrical design software (AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Dialux/Relux).
• Experience with Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations and Low/Zero Carbon Technologies.
• Experience with security and structured wiring design.

Responsibilities

• Work on a variety of projects for built environment clients.
• Design innovative electrical systems for projects.
• Produce detailed technical reports and specifications.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage design milestones and resolve technical challenges.

We are looking for an ambitious Building Services Engineer (Electrical) to join our innovative and fast-growing team in Leicester. Pick Everard has a portfolio of key heritage and culture clients. The role would mainly be working with these clients on their estates and buildings.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• Working on a variety of projects within the built environment.


• Crafting innovative electrical system designs for a variety of projects.


• Producing detailed technical reports, and specifications that drive clarity and confidence.


• Collaborating closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.


• Managing design milestones and resolving technical challenges.


• Compliance with Health & Safety requirements, practices and procedures.

About You

Our ideal Building Services Engineer (Electrical) must have:

• HND/Degree or equivalent professional qualification.


• Knowledge and understanding of BS7671.


• LV systems design experience.


• HV systems and infrastructure design experience (desirable).


• Familiarity with electrical and lighting design software such as Electrical OM/Trimble ProDesign/Dialux and Relux.


• Excellent communication skills, collaborative and self - motivated.


• Fire alarm and emergency lighting design experience.


• Structured wiring system and security system design experience.


• Knowledge of current legislation e.g. Building Regulations, also Low/Zero Carbon Technologies and BREEAM.


• Experience with Revit MEP.


• Hands on knowledge and understanding of AutoCAD.
