Job Description:

The Role

Join us as we move to our new city centre office and embark on a hyperscale data centre project in the North East. This expansion builds on the incredible successes and growth of our European-wide Critical Systems team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and client-focused Associate or Associate Director Electrical Engineer to join our Critical Systems team in our Newcastle office, and to play a leading role in ensuring the successful delivery of innovative electrical design solutions for some of the most notable and large-scale data centre projects in the world.

You will collaborate within our critical systems team and work closely with colleagues of various disciplines to manage the delivery of technically excellent and profitable projects.

The role will include managing engineers to deliver designs, monitoring fee and programme, checking designs, and communicating with the wider project/client team. You will be involved in the design process and produce design deliverables when required.

You will develop new, and nurture existing client relationships that maximise satisfaction and ensure repeat business. You will use your expertise and determination to manage, motivate, and inspire less experienced engineers.

You will also support, and be supported by, senior management staff within the team.

The Skills

A Chartered Engineer, educated to degree level in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (MEng, BEng, or equivalent), with significant experience in electrical engineering design, preferably in data centre/critical systems context.

Ideally, you will have experience in data centre design and delivery, understanding principles of data centre design. We are willing to develop these skills in the right driven and technically strong individual. You should have managed multiple medium to large-scale projects and less senior engineers, exceeding client expectations.

You have proven ability in producing schematic diagrams, specifications, project reports, site inspections, detailed design development, and leading project meetings. You support your project teams in designing and developing detailed and accurate designs.
