Job summary

West Walsall E-ACT Academy in England is seeking an Associate Assistant Headteacher to support the Headteacher with strategic leadership of the academy. The post holder will provide strategic leadership for teaching, learning and assessment, ensure safeguarding compliance, and drive curriculum delivery across faculties.

The role carries a pay range of £60,619–£66,956 (L6–L10) with a commitment to staff development and a supportive people-first culture.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in related subject specialism.
  • Senior leadership or management qualification (or willing to work towards).

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for teaching, learning and assessment within their areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure the Academy is always fully compliant in all areas of Safeguarding.
  • Ensure a consistent focus on the implementation of the curriculum across all faculties.
  • Promote a culture of reflective and personalised learning where all students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning and achievement.
  • Develop and embed strategies that support the Academy vision and help to improve all elements of teaching, learning and assessment.

We are looking for an Associate Assistant Headteacher to support the Headteacher with the strategic leadership of the Academy.

The post holder will be responsible for a leadership responsibility which will be determined upon appointment and in negotiation with the successful candidate.

Key responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership for teaching, learning and assessment within their areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure the Academy is always fully compliant in all areas of Safeguarding.
  • Ensure a consistent focus on the implementation of the curriculum across all faculties.
