This role is part of the Issue Triage and Support Service, a small team focused on application support for line of business applications, and triaging requests and issues from our customers.
We are looking for candidates who are customer-focused, detail-oriented, and interested in problem solving. You should take pride in your work and aim to deliver the best outcomes for end users. Good communication skills across all levels of the organization, self-motivation, and ownership of tasks are essential.
Typical responsibilities include checking core systems to ensure proper functioning, reviewing Service Desk software for logged requests or issues, prioritizing responses, and communicating with end users and colleagues to resolve tickets. You will collaborate with other Digital teams and participate in testing patches.
The core hours are 8 am to 5 pm, with flexible start and end times depending on team coverage. You will participate in a rolling on-call rota with additional allowances and may be required to work out of hours for tasks like monthly patching, compensated as overtime or time off in lieu.
New Civil Service entrants are expected to start at the minimum of the pay band. Existing Civil Servants' transfers or promotions are governed by internal rules, with salary adjustments accordingly. The salary range for this Grade is £28,927 - £31,132.
This is an Executive Officer Grade, fixed-term for 12 months with the possibility of permanence.
Working hours: Standard 37 hours per week, with a flexible working hours policy.

The role is based at Temple Quay House, Bristol, currently out of use due to refurbishment, with alternative office space nearby. We support hybrid working and flexible in-person attendance, which can be discussed during interviews.
