Job summary

Mills & Reeve LLP in Norwich is seeking Real Estate Associates to join the Real Estate Group. Based in our Norwich office, you will work on a wide range of real estate matters including farms, landed estates and agricultural land, with training provided to develop your expertise.

You will assist with acquisitions, disposals and advisory work, contributing to client relationships and long-term service delivery.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Undertake and assist with a wide range of real estate work including sales, purchases and advisory work relating to farms, landed estates and agricultural land.
• Assist with acquisitions and disposals of agricultural land, estates and strategic land, with training and support to develop expertise.
• Work on mortgage refinancing, tenancies, partnerships and complex registrations as part of real estate matters.
• Build strong client relationships and collaborate with partners and private client teams.

Job description

We are looking for Real Estate Associates to join the Real Estate Team in our Norwich Office.

The role

We are looking for Real Estate Associates to join the Real Estate Group. Based in our Norwich office and working in the Food & Agribusiness sector, you will undertake and assist with a wide range of real estate work including (and depending on your level of experience):

Sales, purchases andadvisory work relating to farms, landed estates and agricultural land

• Refinancing transactions for landowners and rural businesses
• Agricultural, rural and business tenancies
• Farming partnerships
• Trust-related property matters
• Complex farm and estate registrations
• Renewable energy and natural capital projects
• Mineral leases

Our clients include farmers, landowners, investors, trustees, charities and rural businesses. The role offers significant client contact and the opportunity to build long-term relationships with clients and professional advisers.

You will assist with acquisitions and disposals of agricultural land, estates and strategic land, with training and support provided to further develop your expertise.

The team works closely with partners Catherine Scott, Katharine Danks, Michael Aubrey and Paddy Lynam, as part of the wider Real Estate National Service Line led by Vincenzo Maggio, while maintaining strong links with the Private Client team.

The person

We are looking for 1-to-5-year PQE Associates and would like to see:

• Enthusiasm towards building and strengthening relationships with clients and their advisors
• Flexibility to work with several team members
• Effective time and matter management and a systematic approach to work
• A proactive team player
• Drive and commitment to see a job through
• An enthusiasm to market and develop the practice is required
• Ideally as Associate with experience of agricultural property work, but otherwise general commercial property work
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written English and the ability to produce clear, logical drafting
• Numeracy
• IT literacy
• Good research skills, including an ability to use online information sources and AI where appropriate
• Lateral thinking and problem-solving skills
