Salary: Up to £40k DOE
Location: Manchester
Hybrid: 4 days from home

The Opportunity:
We are excited to be recruiting an Account Manager with drive and enthusiasm on behalf of our client in the dynamic gas and energy sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to take full ownership of a customer portfolio and play a key role in delivering commercial success.
As an Account Manager, you’ll lead strategic account planning, manage all customer interactions, and unlock new opportunities through strong relationship-building. Experience in B2B sales is essential, along with a passion for providing exceptional service and driving growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Taking full ownership of a portfolio of customer accounts, with responsibility for their strategic development and day-to-day management.
  • Creating and delivering both short-term and long-term account plans to support customer growth, retention, and service excellence.
  • Organising and managing regular contact strategies with your customers, ensuring high levels of service, identifying opportunities for upselling, and resolving any service issues.
  • Building strong relationships with key decision-makers across customer organisations, primarily over the phone, with occasional external visits as required.
  • Working closely with internal teams to align efforts and meet shared goals.
  • Managing pricing and contract agreements to ensure profitability and compliance with market strategy.
  • Capturing and maintaining accurate customer data to support business insights and identify opportunities for further growth.
  • Promoting the full range of the company’s products and services to maximise customer value.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for your customers in all matters related to sales, service, and commercial performance.
Driving continuous service improvements and contributing to a positive brand image that stands out in a competitive market.

What are we looking for:
  • Experience in telephone-based sales, with knowledge of sales techniques and strategies.
  • Ideally worked within the gas, fuel, or energy industry.
  • Good understanding of business and commercial thinking.
  • Used to working towards targets (KPIs) and meeting profit margins.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office – especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Self-motivated and driven, with a track record of hitting goals.
  • Keen to grow and develop your career within the company.
  • Strong communication skills – both speaking and writing.
  • Good negotiation skills and able to handle challenging conversations.
