The Investment Banking Associate will join a high-performing Energy Transition & Core Markets advisory team focused on delivering strategic and financial advice to clients across the global energy value chain. This includes work in renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, storage, emerging energy technologies, and decarbonising core markets.

The Associate will play a key role in supporting and leading transaction execution across Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Capital Advisory, Project Finance and Debt Advisory. They will contribute to the structuring, marketing, and closing of complex transactions that enable clients to advance energy transition goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Execute and support live transactions across M&A, equity and debt capital markets, and project finance advisory in energy and infrastructure sectors

Develop, maintain, and review detailed financial models including DCF, LBO, and project finance models

Produce high-quality transaction materials including pitch books, information memoranda, teasers, and management presentations

Conduct market research, financial and strategic analysis, and valuation to support client engagements

Assist in structuring and placing capital (debt and equity), working with institutional investors, lenders, and private capital providers

Engage with clients and counterparties throughout the deal lifecycle, ensuring clear communication and timely delivery of workstreams

Provide guidance and mentorship to Analysts and contribute to team knowledge-sharing and best practices

Key Requirements:

CFA Charter holder (or in final stages of completion) – CFA qualification is essential

3–5 years of experience in investment banking, infrastructure advisory, corporate finance, or similar financial services environment

Demonstrated execution experience in M&A, capital raising, or project finance, ideally within the energy or infrastructure sectors

Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills with strong attention to detail

Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to prepare and present client-facing materials with precision and clarity

Strong commercial judgement and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset

Experience working on transactions in the renewable energy or sustainable infrastructure space (e.g. solar, wind, battery storage, hydrogen)

Understanding of key policy and regulatory frameworks influencing the energy transition

Familiarity with capital structuring for both greenfield and brownfield infrastructure assets
