Stone King LLP is seeking an Employment Solicitor to join its highly regarded Employment team in Leeds. You will advise clients on a broad range of employment law matters and manage your own caseload within a supportive, collaborative environment.

The role offers hybrid working and the opportunity to develop long-standing client relationships with sector specialists across the firm. Strong client care and a passion for practical, commercially focused advice are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor with experience managing own employment law caseload.

Responsibilities

• Provide employment law advice to a diverse client base.
• Manage own caseload with supervision where appropriate.
• Draft and review policies, contracts of employment and related documentation.
• Advise on disciplinary, grievance and workplace procedures.
• Assist clients with TUPE, discrimination issues and workplace disputes.
• Prepare cases for Employment Tribunal hearings and advocate where appropriate.

As an Employment Solicitor, you’ll play a key role in advising clients on a broad range of employment law matters, supporting organisations across the sectors that Stone King is renowned for serving.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing employment law advice and support to a wide range of clients and prospective clients.
• Managing your own caseload effectively, with support and supervision where appropriate.
• Reviewing, drafting and advising on policies, handbooks, contracts of employment and other employment-related documentation.
• Advising clients on disciplinary, grievance and workplace procedures.
• Supporting organisations through TUPE processes and organisational change.
• Advising on equality and discrimination matters, including disability, age, religion or belief, and sex discrimination.
• Assisting clients with workplace disputes, termination negotiations and settlement agreements.
• Preparing cases for Employment Tribunal hearings, including advocacy where appropriate.
• Working closely with the firm's HR Consultants to provide coordinated and practical support to clients.
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships through regular engagement and advice.
• Supporting business development initiatives, networking activities and marketing opportunities.
• Collaborating with colleagues across the Employment team and wider firm to deliver exceptional client service.

What We’re Looking For

• A qualified Solicitor with experience managing their own employment law caseload
• Strong technical knowledge of employment law and a commitment to delivering high-quality advice
• Experience working independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Previous experience supervising or developing junior colleagues
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
• High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• A genuine commitment to continued professional development and learning
• Experience working in a similar employment law role
• Experience advising education sector clients, schools or colleges
• Experience working across charity, public sector or not-for-profit organisations
