Awsworth Primary and Nursery School is seeking an ambitious Assistant Head teacher to lead Key Stage 1, take a lead role in either Maths or English, and potentially spearhead a whole school initiative such as the Rights Respecting Schools award. Key Responsibilities

• Provide inspirational leadership for Key Stage 1, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment
• Lead the development and delivery of a core subject (Maths or English) across the school, driving continuous improvement
• Champion and potentially lead a whole school initiative such as the Rights Respecting Schools award, embedding its principles across the curriculum and school culture
• Collaborate with senior leaders and staff to improve teaching practice and pupil outcomes
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of teaching and learning strategies within Key Stage 1
• Play a pivotal role in the school's leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making
  
  

Required Qualifications And Experience

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with substantial teaching experience, ideally within Key Stage 1
• Proven leadership experience in leading a key stage or core subject area
• Strong knowledge of current curriculum developments and assessment frameworks in Maths or English
• Experience of leading whole school initiatives or projects that have positively impacted children’s learning and wellbeing
