A leading healthcare trust in London seeks an experienced Assistive Technology Engineer to provide assessment and maintenance of environmental control systems. The Assistive Technology Service is responsible for the assessment, provision and maintenance of environmental control systems (ECS) installed in the homes of people with severe and complex disabilities to maximise personal independence and reduce dependence on their carer. The systems are individually prescribed and configured to suit the needs of the user, enabling them to continue to live in their own home with enhanced independence, security and quality of life. The service is commissioned by NHS England and covers a wide geographic area, including 5 London boroughs, Surrey and West Sussex. The post requires effective communication with a large number of Social Services and care agents with differing policies and systems.
The successful applicant will join St George’s University Hospital’s NHS Foundation Trust as a Band 5 Assistive Technology Engineer, based at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Roehampton, to provide assessment, installation and maintenance of environmental controls throughout the commissioned area. A driver with a full license is essential and access to the applicant’s own vehicle with appropriate work insurance is required.
