CAHSS/Moray House School of Education and Sport/CALL Scotland

Fulltime: 35 hours per week

Openended (permanent)

The Opportunity:

This post is for a senior member of staff within the longestablished CALL Scotland team. CALL Scotland is a unit within the Moray House School of Education and Sport that is primarily funded by Scottish Government to lead the application of assistive technology for children and young people with additional support needs in Scotland. You will be responsible for:

  • providing assistive technology assessment and supportto a caseload of individual learners;
  • leading CALLs work around digital assessment arrangementswith SQA;
  • developing and delivering components of CALLs Professional Learning;
  • creating information resourcesand
  • responding to requests for assistance online and by telephone;
  • managing delivery of CALL services to local authorities;
  • creating learning resources and informational materials;
  • contributing to strategic planning to meet CALL University and Scottish Government objectives.

This post is fulltime (35 hours per week); however we are open to considering parttime or flexible working patterns. We are looking to appoint on an openended contract but a fixed term secondment would also be considered. The post requires travel around Scotland. Working from home is possible on occasion but you will need to work with the CALL team in Edinburgh and campus working will be involved.

The salary for this post is 49559 to 60907 per annum.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Expertise and experience working with learners in secondary education who use assistive technology.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with pupils who require digital assessment arrangements for examinations.
  • Expertise and experience of working with education and allied health professionals at school and local authority levels.
  • Proven ability to devise and deliver effective Professional Learning for anyone working with learners with ASN including parents and carers.
  • Proven ability to manage a wide varied and complex workload.
  • Excellent interpersonal people management and negotiating skills.
