Qualifications

• Experience running a small to medium FMCG operation.
• Experience with WMS systems and manual processes.
• Experience in warehouse operations with supervisory duties.
• Forklift operating experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of inventory management and warehouse management software (WMS).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily work of warehouse staff.
• Support the receipt, storage, picking, packing and dispatch of goods.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through regular stock counts and reconciliations.
• Monitor warehouse performance and productivity against operational targets.
• Ensure employees follow health and safety requirements and company procedures.
• Train, coach and support team members, and contribute to performance reviews.
• Allocate work and organise staffing to meet operational requirements.
• Maintain accurate warehouse records and prepare operational reports.

Assistant Warehouse Manager

Salary: £37,000-£40,000 per annum
Location: Peterborough
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break
Reports to: Warehouse Manager and/or Operations Manager

Job Summary

The Assistant Warehouse Supervisor will oversee day-to-day warehouse operations and supervise the warehouse team to ensure goods are received, stored, picked, packed and dispatched efficiently. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate stock records, supporting productivity targets and ensuring health and safety standards are followed.

Person Specification

Experience and Knowledge

• Experience running a small to medium FMCG operation
• Experience with WMS systems but also has the experience to use manual, paper driven processes.
• Familiarity with managing external sources such as occasional client interaction, key internal stakeholders, temp agencies, contractors etc
• Experience in warehouse operations; previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Forklift operating experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse management software (WMS).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Working Environment
