Overview

This national VAT team is looking for a commercial and technically strong VAT Assistant Manager to join their Reading team. The team have grown in 2024 and seek an individual who wants to move more into client advisory.

As the VAT Assistant Manager you will work in an advisory capacity to a diverse portfolio of clients from owner-managed, international, charities and property. Working closely with the Manager and Senior Manager you will be advising your portfolio on a wide range of VAT issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide advisory support to a diverse portfolio of clients (owner-managed, international, charities and property) on a wide range of VAT issues, in collaboration with the Manager and Senior Manager.
• Operate in an advisory capacity with increasing autonomy within a wider team.
• Support the team in delivering high-quality VAT advice and contributing to the growth of the client advisory area.

Qualifications / Experience

• Ambitious VAT professional, either an experienced VAT Assistant Manager or a VAT Tax Senior seeking progression, with strong technical VAT knowledge and client-facing abilities.
• Desire to grow within a client advisory role and climb through the ranks.
