Assistant Underwriter - Motor

Are you ready to make a significant impact in the world of underwriting? We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Underwriter to join our well-established Motor team.

In this role, you will support our Underwriting team by assessing and underwriting business in line with our business plan and within your delegated authority. Join a team of knowledgeable colleagues and grow your career in the insurance industry!

Your new role
  • Assist with underwriting new business, MTAs, and renewals according to Governance Underwriting Standards and Product rules.
  • Develop and maintain system and process knowledge within Distribution.
  • Stay updated on insurance guidelines, policy changes, and modifications.
  • Provide excellent underwriting and claims customer service to intermediaries and direct customers.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain good relationships and communication with internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce expenses.
  • Participate in meetings to share strategy, knowledge, and best practices.
  • Engage in continuous quality improvement and self-learning.
About You
  • Motor insurance experience with new and renewal business.
  • Highly organized with effective task management skills.
  • Analytical mindset and comfortable working with data.
  • Good communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Problem-solver, persistent in resolving queries and completing tasks.
  • Proficient with systems, especially Excel and relevant software tools.
