Assistant Underwriter, Green Solutions

We are seeking an Assistant Underwriter based in London, reporting to the Head of Renewables, on a full-time basis.

Your role will involve ensuring the prudent underwriting of quality business aligned with the business plan to maximize profit, while maintaining the firm’s reputation and integrity, demonstrating care for customers and respecting regulatory obligations.

You will also provide high-quality administrative support to the Green Solutions underwriting team, ensuring compliance and efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in delivering the agreed business plan
• Underwrite and service Green Solutions risks, exercising judgment within underwriting limits, in accordance with the business plan
• Record all material customer interactions as per procedures
• Follow and maintain company procedures and systems
• Monitor risk entries and update them appropriately
• Review daily claims reports
• Coordinate with Peer Review Group and respond to queries
• Support analytical activities using tools like MS Excel, S2000, and Qlikview
• Supervise and assist Underwriting Assistants in monitoring income flows
• Provide management reports as required
• Benchmark pricing and monitor rates for accounts
• Assist with aggregation data entry and collaborate with exposure management
• Support other ad-hoc tasks as needed
• Promote good conduct and understanding of escalation responsibilities
• Identify and report potential risks and control effectiveness
