Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Underwriter to join our Financial Lines team, focusing on Commercial D&O for our Lloyds Syndicate.
- Underwrite within limited underwriting authority and underwriting guidelines to aid senior underwriters;
- Proactive engagement with the underwriters and their brokers to develop individual experience whilst maintaining team culture;
- Monitoring income, signings, chasing late payments and renewals, as required;
- To prepare and provide statistics and information in order to serve the requirements of the underwriting team and clients;
- Provide efficient and timely administrative support for the underwriting team, including photocopying, scanning and entry of risk information where applicable;
- Control of risk information received, including ensuring that it is appropriately and electronically filed;
- Ensuring risk information is kept up to date and correct, and obtaining additional risk information as required;
- Take an active role in departmental meetings and team discussions;
- Participate in Broker entertainment events and positively represent the Syndicate within the marketplace;
- Comply with external and internal regulatory and statutory policies, procedures and regulations;
- Train junior staff as and when required;
- To be aware of all matters relating to the underwriting team and report on this and when required by the business.
